The Regional Agreement for Employment is an autonomous local body created on July 26, 2004 within the Ribera Consortium. It has its own legal personality, as well as administrative and economic autonomy. The objective of Pater is to achieve in La Ribera a permanent economic development capable of generating sustained growth based on the effort of endogenous productive resources, the creation and consolidation of businesses and the regulation of the labor market, promoting the integration of all people who wish to access a job under equal conditions. The main engine for self-sustained development is to create a regional productive network based on the development of a system of companies that take advantage of the potential of the region. In particular, two necessary conditions can be established to achieve effective development.

  • Business Capacity: It must be the result both of the establishment of a qualified business team and of the creation of a regional system capable of promoting innovative, competitive and consolidated initiatives in the market.
  • Labor Market: The detection of the evolution and trends of the labor market in the region will make it possible to anticipate changes by designing action measures that favor the adjustment between supply and demand, the insertion of groups with higher risks of labor exclusion, the identification of employment niches, the promotion of professional diversification or the detection of new professional profiles.
Likewise, as a result of the articulation of these processes, it is intended to guarantee safety at work, environmental protection and equal opportunities for integration and employment.

The combination of all these conditions constitutes the center of action of Pater, in such a way that its constitution and operation will contribute to achieving the objective of integration and sustained development of the Ribera region.

The PATER program (Territorial Pact for Employment of La Ribera) is funded by Labora and the European Social Fund. It is made up of the Ribera Consortium (which brings together the Commonwealths of Ribera Baixa and Alta) and also includes different business associations such as FEDALCIS (Federation of Local Trade and Industry Associations of La Ribera) and the Business Association of Alzira, the trade unions CCOO and UGT.
